Owners & Innkeepers Joe & Melissa Claire

Chateau Claire has been evolving since the moment we met. From our first home in Corpus Christi to Houston to Florida, we have always found a reason to celebrate every moment that life gives us.

We were raised with families whose roots were deep into hospitality. Melissa was raised helping her family run a Mexican restaurant in Corpus Christi and Joe was surrounded by a family that always celebrated life. Over time, they became that space for their family and friends - from holidays, brunches, to the random dinners during the week. The love for hosting led us to Hondo, Texas in 2021 - where we restored our first historic property, Chateau Claire Boutique Bed & Breakfast, a quiet and welcoming space for travelers to stay in Medina County.

As time passed we met our next dream, being The Venue by Chateau Claire, located in downtown Hondo. This historic building was our first brick-and-mortar to restore; we brought in design elements to accentuate the romantic character of the space and breathe life back into the property.

We look forward to welcoming… Whether it’d be a stay at the Boutique Bed & Breakfast or an event at The Venue - it is our hope that we cross paths to celebrate all that life has to offer.
